FEES FOR THE 2007 - 2008 SEASON.

The White Wolf Snowmobile Club is part of the Labrador Winter Trails system that also includes the other snowmobile clubs in Labrador.  LWT is the organization that goes to the Government departments to secure funding for groomers and equipment, garages and for trail building and maintenance. They are also the organization that is responsible for trail passes in Labrador.

Each year, LWT recommends to Government what the trail pass fees should be and in a meeting last spring, they made a decision to have our passes at the same rates as last year.

Before Government approves the rates, all clubs must be audited to ensure that fees collected are being properly spent. This year two or three clubs did not submit their records for auditing until November. It meant that we did not get our passes until December 12th.

Over the past few years, the executive of the Club has managed to keep costs way down, yet we need to have funds to operate and the start of the season is our biggest expense. We hire two employees to prepare the equipment and do preventative maintenance, which helps to ensure that there are no major expenses or repairs during the season. This has paid off for us as last year we had no major expenses.

To help us get our start up monies, we hold an Early Bird Membership Drive where local businesses provide gifts and prizes for members who have purchased their passes. We offer our sincerest thank you to these businesses and we encourage ALL members to support them. Usually the draw was done in January, but last year it was held before Christmas and this year we had hoped to have it by December 13th. Due to the delay in getting the passes, we will be having the draw on January 18th.

THIS YEARS FEES
( INCLUDES TAXES)

SEASON PASS $113.00
WEEK PASS $57.50
WEEKEND PASS $23.00

The WWSC is continually showing to the rest of North America the quality of trails and equipment that we are able to enjoy. Members have every right to brag and feel proud about the facilities that we have.
Members who have volunteered to be Trail Patrollers will be regularly out on the trails checking for membership passes. They will be sometimes accompanied by members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and/or Conservation Officers who may issue tickets to those without passes.  We have been assured that there WILL be an increase in trail patrols.

The trails are being checked to ensure passes are being used. Passes are used to pay for this and other pieces of equipment that keep our trails in great shape. We have also found that trail checks allow members to spend a few minutes to meet and yarn with friends.

We will be announcing the businesses that will selling passes for our members. PLEASE REMEMBER, USE CASH ONLY.
Banks / MasterCard / VISA charge the businesses 3% for using your card.
Passes are also available at the  WWSC Clubhouse and you can use cash, MasterCard/Visa or debit. Hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday.
With the increased efforts by authorities to ensure that passes are being used, please place the new sticker on the left side of your windshield so it will be easier to be seen by them.

Not too sure if the pass prices are worth it, well here are a few facts that could help you make your decision:

  • Maximum fine, first offence $200.00

  • Maximum fine, second offence $500.00

  • Your kidneys will love you

  • Your parts supplier won't

  • Fewer break downs and machines last longer

  • No more "Yes Mamms"  YEAH !!!!!

TAKE YOUR MACHINE TO ANOTHER PROVINCE ?

Even with our trail pass rate increase, we all must appreciate that we have the lowest rates in Canada, yet we ride what are proven to be some of the best trails. Snowmobiling is now big business and a great way for Canadians to enjoy winter.

  • NOVA SCOTIA: $125.00 (They get NO snow)

  • P. E. I. :  $200.00 (They get less maybe)

  • NEW BRUNSWICK : $205.20, $35/day, $75/3 day, $115/week

  • ONTARIO : $230.00, $90/3 day, $120/week

  • QUEBEC : $220.00, $50/day, $150/week

They charge those rates for a reason.
