Caribou on a local lake. Restockin the wood pile. WWSC trails are also used as part of the Labrador 120 Sled Dog race.

Even some of the off-trail rides can be interesting. Members are on a lake off the Ironstone Trail that is located behind the Iron Ore Company mine site.         The trail to Smokey Mountain, also off the Ironstone Trail.

    One  Night  On The Trails:

These pictures were taken on the Ironstone - Smokey Mountain trail on January 12th, 2007 at around 8:00 to 10:00 PM. It was a near full moon night, no winds with about minus 12 degree temps. In other words, a very beautiful and enjoyable night.

Every spring, the groomers are taken out of their storage garage to make room to prepare the pigs for the annual pig roast, a proven event that is well appreciated and attended by members.

Sometimes you don't know just where you might go or what you might see. Dave Dumaresque & his father Nelson decide to go off trail behind Smokey and get sight of a young moose, a rare sight in this area.

             On The Way To Work:

Early in the morning, the first of two train derailments occurred near the Wabush Highway crossing and shortly afterwards, two young men on their way to work didn't see the train cars in the way. One person suffered injuries and is now doing well. (Marcie Brown photos)
